In case you don't get chance to ask about the Magician!

Have we ever told you about the calls Wendy made for a Magician 🎩 🐇 No?

Initially it seemed like a strange request. Could she get him corporate work?

They met and he told her about his craft and they brainstormed how he could go from lots of evening entertaining to more paid day work. Wendy suggested exhibition work and so they explored what events were coming up over the coming months at the NEC.

One for the Optical industry stood out to Wendy as a great idea to be a crowd pleaser with a strap-line of “you won’t believe your eyes!”

Wendy contacted the main sponsors and they loved the idea so much our Magician was booked not only for their main stand for three days but for their gala dinner too!

After attending the event he came away with lots more bookings and lots more to follow up on.

We believe in Magic! Do you?

Want to see how you can stand out in the crowd? Let’s have a conversation and make it count...

Here's what we can do for your business...

A statement like: "Oh, you're the lady that can get me more sales!" might seem fantastic however it's not a true reflection of what we do...

Hearing "oh, you're the lady that can help ME get more sales!" is more accurate.

A telemarketer sits after the strategy is thought about and before the sale is closed. That means it's not a fit for everyone. Some sales are a very quick decision and our role is to nurture the longer life relationships.

Our clients close the sales lined up for them because it's their business and they have the ability to meet customers needs. Our key responsibilities are to find the decision maker and begin the engagement process, qualify where they are on their journey and position a return to task when the timing is right.

It's like the tortoise and the hare story. We're the tortoise that takes time to reach the finish line. This cartoon maze made us smile because the energy of the hare is in fact harnessed by the pure volume of contact needed to for a breakthrough.

Which one are you? Do you need more tortoise in your sales journey? Happy to talk. Or you can just do the maze!

Gatekeeper is such an unfair name

I want to talk about the phrase “getting passed the gatekeeper” and why it’s such a derogatory term.

People ask me “how do I get passed the gatekeeper?”

It’s simple, stop thinking about them as your enemy. The people that put us through to our ideal contact wants to do a great job just like me or you.

These “gatekeepers” are, in fact, a potentially powerful ally. Remember that every conversation counts!

You are likely to speak to the people answering the phone more than any decision maker.

Results matter, people matter more and I’ve lost count of how many times the wonderful “gatekeepers” have got me through.

Want to find out more? Spend a Power Hour with me and take the lead in all of your conversations.

AXA Brand Ambassador Wendy Harris - Work Hard, Insure Simple

WAG spends their days dialling out on the telephone, looking to speak to someone specifically about a client’s product or service. It takes many dials before we reach the right person on the end of the line. We pride ourselves on being friendly and off-script, a natural conversation that takes many directions with the customer leading.

Imagine being a cold caller and ringing us? Expert in carrying out telemarketing activities, training individuals and teams, whomever is on the other end of the telephone line needs to be equally comfortable in making the call. We can tell!

Here, we’re sharing how on the first working day of 2019 we received a cold call. The lady, Gillian, was friendly and confident. A great start! She asked whether it would be a good time to answer a few questions for their client, AXA Insurance, who we have our business insurance through. Gillian was professional, thanked us for our time and asked if we would be happy to answer any future questions. We agreed that would be fine and happy to help.

That same day, Gillian called again. She asked whether we would answer a few more questions, it was becoming intriguing and we agreed. The questions were such that we needed to answer ‘would you either/or’ so we started to write the choices down. For example, would you say that the success of your business is down to either ‘hard work’ or ‘planning’, ‘innovative’ or ‘attention to detail’, ‘happy’ or ‘purpose’. We chose planning, innovative and happy. There were lots more, but you get the picture.

Following these questions, we had a third call! Three further similar questions. We expressed our curiosity to Gillian, she explained AXA were looking for small businesses to be part of their online marketing campaign ‘Work Hard – Insure Simple’. She asked if we would we like to take part? Why wouldn’t we? A short video and a few photographs shared, and we had entered for an opportunity that doesn’t come along every day.

Following our offering being considered we got a call after 5pm one dark January evening saying we had been selected with two other businesses! How exciting! We prepared best we could and tidied the office, made sure there was plenty of milk for the crew on the day of the photo shoot. We needn’t have worried. They emptied the office, rearranged everything and involved the office WAG’s, Ziggy and Maud. The crew were delightful and kept their cool in the 3 degrees that did feel colder! Happy they had captured what they were looking for, the wait began for the finished article.

Amazing to see yourself appear in front of your eyes when you’re checking in to LinkedIn! Astonishing the support my network of connections has given us since announcing the campaign.

The moral of the story? You never know where a conversation will lead. Next time you get a cold caller think about what could be in it for you. If the caller has done their homework correctly, they should only be in touch when they are convinced that they really do have an offer of help that can make a difference to you or your business. Listen to what they have to say before you dismiss too quickly. We need more Gillian’s in our world!

Need help with making calls? Have a team that needs some refresher training? Do you have a member of staff that needs to embrace calling after a promotion? Please do get in touch, we can help. We understand how to make every conversation count.
